Marking 125 years since Tottenham Hotspur's historic 1901 FA Cup triumph, the club is launching a special campaign. The centerpiece of this initiative is a limited-edition shirt, designed in collaboration with Nike, that pays homage to the club's rich heritage. The shirt features a heritage crest and sponsor logos in Lilywhite, with no player surnames on the back, only the shirt number, just as it was in 1901. This unique design will be auctioned via MatchWornShirt, with proceeds donated to the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation for community development.
A limited run of 1,901 shirts will be available for fans to purchase from the Spurs Retail Shop online starting Saturday at 9 am. Each shirt comes in a premium presentation pack, including player cards, a replica ticket of the 1901 Final, a certificate of authenticity with a limited-edition number, branded tissue paper, and a wax seal marked '1901'.
The campaign is accompanied by a film titled 'Carved From Our History', featuring a marble relief sculpture of the 1901 shirt, meticulously crafted by artist Alasdair Thomson. This film captures the shirt's every detail and texture, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship.
Duncan Pass, Merchandise & Licensing Director at Tottenham Hotspur, expressed his enthusiasm: 'To celebrate our 125th anniversary of our groundbreaking FA Cup success, we wanted to bring this historic achievement into the spotlight with a truly beautiful shirt. The team stepping onto the pitch in a shirt inspired by our ancestors will surely captivate fans of all ages, creating a unique collector's item that will become a cherished part of the club's history.'
This initiative not only celebrates the club's past but also contributes to its future, with proceeds supporting the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation's initiatives in local schools and community transformation.
